2020 Hyundai Palisade SUV Price, Interior, Specs, and Redesign. Instead, the carmaker will reportedly call it the 2020 Hyundai Palisade. Why Palisade? They have Kona, Tucson, and Santa Fe already, so the Palisade definitely fits in carmaker strategy, because they don’t have any strategy at all.
Hyundai is readying its first-ever full-size SUV, called the Palisade, and thanks to some recent spy images that have surfaced online, we now know what it looks like.
The first ever undisguised images of the massive eight-seater from Hyundai are out ahead of the official reveal at the Los Angeles Motor Show on November 28.
A production follow-up to the Hyundai Grandmaster concept, and built on the same platform as the upcoming Kia Telluride, the Palisade will offer to seat for eight along with all-wheel-drive capability.
Hyundai is pitching the Palisade as a full-blown luxury SUV, and it will take the flagship space above the much smaller Santa Fe globally.
In terms of looks, what’s striking is the sheer size of the Palisade. It is massive and just like its key rivals like the Ford Expedition and the Chevrolet Tahoe in the US, it’s likely to get chunky tires, acres of space and a large panoramic sunroof.
2020 Hyundai Palisade Engine and Powertrain
under the hood, Hyundai is likely to offer a 3.3-liter V6 producing 290PS paired with an automatic transmission. When Kia introduced the Kia Telluride concept it had a 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with an electric motor to produce 400PS. Hyundai has been pretty tightlipped on the engine specs but some reports also suggest that the Palisade could also feature a twin-turbocharged version of the 3.3-liter engine, which produces 365PS.
The 2020 Palisade will reportedly have its own dedicated platform which is going to be shared with Kia’s full-size Telluride sibling. The engine has a more potent side as well, so the 2020 Hyundai Palisade could squeeze off up to 365 horsepower like the Genesis G80 and G90 luxury models did. No, the carmaker has promised some hybrids and plug-in hybrid in near future and I can bet that the Palisade stands at the top of the list.
2020 Hyundai Palisade Interior, Exterior
Styling-wise, well, the camouflage hides a lot, but I’m pretty sure that the SUV has a lot in common with the all-new Kona or even with the Santa Fe. The blocky bodywork gets a quite upright rear hatch, which is a reason more to believe that there’s going to be plenty of space inside. Still, some parts of the interior could mirror the K-900, so the 2020 Palisade should host a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and 30-way driver seat, as well as a range of standard safety features.
2020 Hyundai Palisade Release Date, Price
The full-size 8-seat SUV should arrive in early 2019. Hyundai has not released any pricing information so far, but I think that the base 2020 Palisade should cost a bit south from $50K.
Global media will see the Palisade for the first time at the LA Auto Show and it will be available in the US from mid-2019 as a 2020 model. We would love to see this fully-loaded SUV come to India, however, there is no official word on this for now. Do stay tuned for more updates and the complete coverage on Hyundai’s behemoth SUV in the coming days.
