Still, many experts believe that Honda will only improve performances, but slightly. On the other hand, Ridgeline Type-R could go on sale in 2022.
New Engine Could Happen, Including Hybrid
As we said, a new engine is a possibility. There are a couple of rumors at the moment. The upcoming 2022 Honda Ridgeline will surely offer a 3.6-liter V6 as standard once again. This powertrain is potent and it generates 280 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. Some rumors are reporting that this V6 will gain slightly more power. The platform remains so front-wheel-drive remains.
A 6-speed automatic transmission is also unchanged. In terms of fuel economy, Ridgeline delivers 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. A hybrid variant could also arrive and some reports are even suggesting a high-performance Type R version. If any of these rumors become truth it would be great.

In terms of design, a new 2022 Honda Ridgeline will get minor changes. This mid-size pickup truck will borrow some cues from the Pilot SUV. Two models are already sharing the architecture.
